Request for Contract Team Services

** From 1 August 2008 onwards, the Contracts Team will not be accepting request for assistance submitted without the appropriate documentation as described below**

In order for the Contracts Team to handle your requests as efficiently as possible we require that any contracts submitted to us are accompanied by enough information for us to be able to recommend your contract or agreement to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) for his approval on behalf of Macquarie University.

Generally, you will require the help of the Contracts Team for either Contract Research documents, or for documents to Facilitate Research (For example, Confidentiality Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements etc.) For either type of document, we will require the following in order to undertake our review.

  • a completed Request for Service Form
  • a completed Contracts Checklist
  • a completed Contracts Coversheet
  • and any appropriate supporting documentation for your request

For either Contract Research or to Facilitate Research, you will need to complete the Request for Service Form as well as the applicable forms below.

When you have applied for Research funding through the Research Office at Macquarie University (ie, via a Grant application) you will not ordinarily need to provide a Request for Service and accompanying documents to the Contracts Team directly - they will be passed to us by the Grants Team.

Contract Research documents

Contract Research documents for the purposes of the Contracts Team include all contracts and agreements which govern any Research Funding coming into, or leaving from, Macquarie University. This includes all awards listed on the Australian Competitive Grants Register (AGC), other State and Federal government Funding, private domestic funding, and all international funding.

If you are participating in a research consultancy through the Research Office, or are the recipient of a proposed research donation or other research funding contribution, you will also need to complete the Research Project documents in order for the Contracts Team to assist you.

Documents to Facilitate Research

Documents to Facilitate Research for the purposes of the Contracts Team include, all contracts and agreements which are required to allow Research to be undertaken by, with or for Macquarie University, but where there is no funding governed by the agreement or contract itself.

Examples of Research Support documents include access agreements (for the use of data or premises), Confidentiality Deeds and Agreements, Material Transfer Agreements, and some student agreements.

Agreements required in support of research are generally more simple than agreements or contracts relating to Research Projects, however the University still needs to undertake a comprehensive review of these agreements and contracts.
