ARC Funding Rules

Applicants should familiarise themselves with the ARC Discovery Projects Funding Rules for 2010 to ensure that their proposed research is in line with the aims of the DP scheme.

A number of changes have been made by the ARC since the last round. You should familiarise yourself with these by going to the relevant section of the Funding Rules (above), or see our 'Resource Pack' (link above).

Are you eligible to apply for this round if you are already an ARC Discovery Projects grant recipient?

A CI may only hold a maximum of 2 Discovery Projects grants at any one time. She/he may also only apply to be CI on Discovery Projects grant applications to the extent that if all were successful, they would not hold more than the maximum number of grants permitted in 2010.

So the answer is - you can apply for or hold a maximum of 2 Discovery Projects grants as CI in 2010 (only one of which may be as sole CI). Your own circumstances will dictate how the maximum applies to your grant application activity. Do not forget to take into account those research applications that are being submitted by other universities where you are named as CI.
