Macquarie University Safety Net Grant Scheme
Closing date: 5:00pm Friday 7 November 2008
The Safety Net Scheme is designed to offer research support - up to a maximum of $20,000 - to researchers whose ARC Discovery-Projects, NHMRC Project or ARC Linkage International Award application has been unsuccessful, subject to the eligibility requirements outlined in the Funding Rules. Unsuccessful applicants for ARC or NHMRC Fellowships who have held fractional or full-time appointments at Macquarie University in 2008 are eligible to apply for funding (up to $20,000) as a contribution to their salary in 2009 (see eligibility conditions).
Safety Net support will be targeted at those applications that were rated in the top 50% of unsuccessful applications (ARC) and category 3 and above (NHMRC). However, if a very strong case is made, applications to support proposals which were rated outside these categories may be funded (see Funding Rules for details).
Please note, for a given unsuccessful ARC or NHMRC application, there may be one only Safety Net application and individual researchers may only make one Safety Net application per round.
