Dean HDR Roles

The Dean Higher Degree Research, Professor John Hooper, is the senior academic responsible for postgraduate research study across all Divisions and departments, with roles spanning policy development, supervisory arrangements and support structure, research scholarships, management procedures and administrative practices.

The Dean Higher Degree Research chairs the HDR Programs and Examination sub-committee of the Higher Degree Research Committee; and reports to the Committee on matters relating to research candidature progression, completion and policy.

The Dean's office also has a strong commitment to provision of advice and pastoral care to postgraduate research students, and their supervisors.
