The Higher Degree Research Office

The Higher Degree Research Office (HDRO) is the contact point for research degree enrolment at Macquarie University. HDRO manages research degree candidature and scholarships including applications, admissions, enrolment, progression, thesis submission and degree completion. HDRO works closely with the Faculties of the University, the Dean of Higher Degree Research and the Higher Degree Research Committee. Our aim is to provide excellent service and specialised knowledge of Macquarie's research training activities to all commencing and continuing candidates, as well as to staff.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) has announced up to 40 full-time PhD Macquarie University Research Excellence Scholarships are available on a first-in-first served basis to new domestic PhD students. Preference may be given to students seeking to study with one of Macquarie University's Concentrations of Research Excellence (CORE).

Macquarie's new research magazine QUEST Quest

Explore the latest research from Macquarie University in our new magazine, Quest. The magazine, which is published quarterly, is available online and also by free subscription.The second issue features articles about Macquarie research in selected concentrations of research excellence and in our international research collaborations. It contains articles about research into addiction, climate change and celebrates Indigenous early childhood teacher education.
