Faculty Commencement Program (FCP)

Faculty Commencement Programs vary in content but they generally comprise attendance at a Divisional orientation or welcome session and completion of a research training unit, usually covering research methodologies and/or research skills in the appropriate discipline, and research seminars.

Completion of the Faculty Commencement Program is required for candidature to be confirmed and for students to progress to their second year of study. Failure to complete both components of the Commencement Program will result in students being asked to Show Cause why they should be permitted to continue their program.

General information about Faculty Commencement Programs can be obtained from the Higher Degree Research Office website. Further enquiries concerning the content and scheduling of Divisional Commencement Programs should be directed to the Division of enrolment.
